Five tips for recording content on the go so you can write a book in one day
In this world of hustle and bustle and instant gratification, it seems that authors want to be able to write their books in one day.
If this is you, perhaps some of these shortcuts will assist you in achieving that goal.
Tip 1: Carry a notebook that is dedicated to your thoughts in relation to the creation of your book.
Tip 2: Find a dictation app (Dragon or Dictate + Connect) and talk to your heart’s content.
Tip 3: Centralise emails, where you have answered questions in relation to your expertise, into a single folder in your inbox.
Tip 4: All those scribbled pieces of paper lying around and all those letters or responses you have typed up over the years – put these in a expandable folder, or scan them and put them in an electronic folder on your device, tablet or desktop.
Tip 5: How about posting some letters to yourself, as if you were your own customer?
With each of these techniques the key is to focus on centralising the information you are recording for easier collation and sorting to enable you to publish a book, as well as encouraging you to look from the outside in.
Perhaps you have already started this in some degree, and not thought about how this could be used to publish your book.
Take some time to dust off some of those old papers lying around in your office and see if they can be put to good use.
Once you have collated all those ideas sit down for one day and write your book. Easy as 1, 2, 3. Try it and let me know how you went with this technique.
