Five Tips to Nurture Your Idea Seed
Five tips to nuture your idea:
- WHY
Understand why you want to do this – deep understanding of this will give you excellent motivation to want to complete the project – think about how you make time to watch your favourite TV show or go to a movie – you need to refocus your mindset to this project.
- OUTSOURCE
Get someone else to help you – maybe you need the assistance of a third party or a collaborator or mentor to get you across the line – who in your network could assist you with this?
- WRITE IT DOWN
Write down exactly what it is you are trying to achieve and get into as much detail as you can to make the image in your mind very clear and to help the project become a reality – any small detail could assist – for example, if you are thinking about writing your book, imagine the typeface and feel of the paper of your completed book – perhaps you have a favourite book that you would like your book to be similar to.
- MOCK UP
Get a graphic designer to mock up an image of what your idea would look like when it is finished. Put that image next to your desk. If you are dreaming about your first book you could even print out a cover and wrap it around another book and put it beside your bed to help strengthen your visualisation of that finished book.
- TIME BLOCK
Block out dates in your diary as you would for your annual holiday, however this time make it for completing your idea – it is just as important for you to complete this as it is to have your holiday, otherwise, it will keep eating at you every time you keep delaying it – you need to get this done in order to give your mind rest.
