How to wrap up your book before Christmas
The most obvious suggestion would be that you simply start (for those who have not put ‘pen to paper’). Then leverage from the scientific theory that objects in motion stay in motion. That is, let momentum carry you along and leave inertia behind. You may be able to gather more momentum by dusting off some of your old notes from your bottom drawer.
Perhaps an accountability partner could be more suitable for your – many people use personal trainers for fitness – why not get a personal trainer for book writing.
Maybe these do not seem like good ideas to you. These ideas just don’t ‘make it happen’ for you.
How about this for an idea?
Have you ever been told that you could talk with a mouthful of marbles underwater?
Perhaps dictation may be the key for you. You can talk for as long as you like into a Dictaphone and then have someone transcribe it for you.
Some of you may need social pressure to get cracking. Tell the world that you are writing a book.
Find what it is that works for you – this is most likely to be something that you are already doing in your day-to-day life – I am not asking you to create a new habit, merely adjust an existing habit, so that you write your book.
Does that sound achievable?
If you said, “Yes!” What are you waiting for?
Get your book wrapped up before the festivities begin.
If you said, “No!” start at the beginning again, or stop now and find a better way to spend your time and energy.
