How does losing your glasses help you focus?
What happens when you lose your glasses?
Recently, I lost my glasses. I put them on the bench in the kitchen, and the next time I looked, they were no longer there.
Can’t blame the dog as I don’t have one. The kids all looked at me with wide-eyed innocence to suggest why would they never would do such a thing.
Next step was to work out what could still be done without my glasses (I am myopic or short-sighted).
I could read and use the computer. I could drive as I had prescription sunglasses, so there were not major disruptions to my life. A benefit was anyone more than a couple of metres away from me looked amazing in a blurry glow. All things considered, it wasn’t all bad.
However, the glasses would need to be found or replaced shortly. I gave it four days, and if the glasses had not turned up by then, they were unlikely to turn up. Unfortunately, the glasses did not turn up and I replaced them.
How is this relevant to getting your content published as a book?
Make a decision.
Make a decision and run with it and let go of all other options.
Move forward. Finish the project. Stay focused on your one thing. (As Seth Godin would say be a serial ‘idea-shipping person’.)
What could you do today that would allow you to make a decision that will see you moving closer to your goals rather than away from them?
Life is a series ‘20-mile marches’, and it can take ‘10 years to be an overnight success’.
Make your decision and run with it!
