One line, one word
A picture starts with a simple stroke of a brush or pen or pencil, similarly a story starts with one word. It could even be one letter.
The beauty of the picture or story evolves based on the strokes and words that follow.
It seems that some people have an innate talent for pictures and stories.
Betty Edwards believes that everyone can draw and is well known for her New York based drawing program where people walk in claiming never to have been able to draw and walk out being able to draw an image of themselves that can be recognised by anyone.
Similarly, there are those who believe writing is a learnt skill as well.

When I read the Australian Writers’ Centre posts and listen to their podcasts I think that there is a place for the unlearned to learn.
Other programs are offered on sites such as Udemy or SkillShare that provide training for the unskilled writer.
What wonderful opportunities we have to learn skills we did not believe we had!
The question then becomes, ‘When will I fit this into my schedule, and what should I do first?’
Start small to get a taste. The training may not be what you want. Go to an Open Day, visit a few websites, make a few phone calls. This may assist with clarifying your goal so that you achieve what you want for the least amount of energy.
